Learn which backings are available for each product!

There are lots of options when it comes to choosing a backing for your patch.

Plastic Backing

This reinforcement backing helps keep patches from puckering, and is used for sewing down.

For use on embroidered patches

Heat Seal Backing

For use when heat pressing or ironing on.

For use on embroidered, woven, sublimated, photo over, and tackle twill patches.

Not used on chenille patches due to the material being flattened by the heat press.

Peel n Stick Backing

Also known as sticker backing. Not intended for permanent application. They stick well but are not able to be placed in the wash.

For use on embroidered, woven, sublimated, photo over, tackle twill, chenille, leather and soft rubber patches.

Hook and Loop Backing

The male hook side is attached to the back of the patch, and the female loop side is detachable and sewn onto the garment.

Mainly used on embroidered patches but can be placed on other types such as woven, sublimated, photo over, tackle twill, chenille, leather and soft rubber.

Non Woven Fabric Backing

Used on woven patches to help make the patch thicker.

No Backing

Used on woven labels and embroidered patches that are going to be sewn on and don't need the reinforcement backing.

The durability of the Peel n Stick backing is short-lived as it tends to peel off after washing.

The main visual difference between Hard Enamel Pins and Soft Enamel Pins is the texture. While hard enamel has a smooth finish, soft enamel pins consist of dips and ridges.
